What personal data do we collect?
At Smart Financial Advisor, we treat your privacy very seriously, and as such we only collect the information we require require to do our job. Typically, only your name, contact information and some basics about your needs & circumstances will be collected. However there may be instances where other information (including but not limited to personal information) may be requested, or voluntarily supplied by yourself.

We will never ask you to provide sensitive personal information (also known as "special data") such as health or medical history, political or religious views, or criminal history.
How do we use and process your data?
Smart Financial Advisor is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation.
When we collect your data, we are doing so for the sole purposes of providing the service of identifying which financial advisor(s) and/or other service providers to refer you to. By providing us with your data, you are giving us consent to process it as required in order to provide this service. Any and all data collected may be shared with any financial advisor(s) or service providers to whom you are matched.

The financial advisor(s) and/or other service providers to whom you are referred may pass information back to us relating to products and services they have recommended to you or provided you with. We may use this data for quality assurance, insights and providing you have opted-in, marketing purposes.

On occasion, we will use any/all data collected for contractual responsibilities we may owe to regulatory bodies, such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), or for wider compliance with any legal or regulatory obligations to which we might be subject. In such circumstances, we would be processing your data in order to meet a legal, compliance or other regulatory obligation to which we are subject.

Any data collected will be stored safely and security. This may be across multiple mediums including paper files, mobile devices and computer systems (including websites, e-mail, CRM systems, internal & external hard drives and cloud storage facilities such as OneDrive/Dropbox). We do not envisage any circumstances in which your data will be transferred outside of the European Economic Area. We cannot guarantee that when you transmit information to us through the internet, that it will be 100% secure and as such, any information transmitted is done so at your own risk.

Marketing
Occasionally, we would like to reach out to you to inform you of any products or services that we believe may be of interest to you. This is typically done by e-mail however may in also be via other methods including but not limited to post, phone, text message, instant messaging (such as WhatsApp) and social media (such as Facebook). You must opt in to receive marketing correspondence from us and you can opt out at any time.

If you are unhappy with any service we have provided then you may raise a complaint with us by e-mailing info@smartfinancialadvisor.co.uk. Please note that we can only address complaints directly relating to ourselves. If you are unhappy with anything from the firm(s) or individual(s) to whom we have referred you, then you should make a complaint directly to them.
